lets - go - cruise---Installing Mr Cool

Back to Mr Cool Car Audio Systems 6 volt or 12 volt? Keeping You Cool Keeping Your Engine Cool Cruise Home

The only part of the Mr Cool system that actually needs to be installed is the vacuum operated water valve.--It can be installed anywere in the two hoses that go to the heater. -- Just cut the hose in two and install the valve with the two hose clamps. -- Each time your engine is started the valve opens which helps keep it from freezing up.-- If your car has enough space you can install the water valve between the heater box and the firewall to keep it completely hidden.-- To complete the installation run the supplied hose from the valve to a vacuum port on your carburetor or intake manifold.-- To use your "heater" as a power ventilation system just disconnect the vacuum hose and put the rubber cap back on the port.

Most cars allow the Mr Cool fan to be used by just clamping it to the lower edge of the dash and plugging it in to the lighter socket.--If you want you can install a quick disconnect plug set on the power cord.--For special installations the clamp can be unbolted and you can use a mount fabricated for your particular car.

The static cling sunshield can be used by pressing the sheet along the top of the window that the sun is coming into.--For a neater installation you may want to cut the sheet to fit the side window shape.

Q & A

What good is a Mr Cool when I can roll down my windows and accomplish the same thing?

During the hottest part of the day you'll still have to roll your windows down but in the morning and evening hours you can cruise with your windows up in quiet comfort with the Mr Cool system.--Eliminating the heat at your feet and replacing it with a cool flow of air is a great relief by itself. --And don't forget that that the Mr Cool fan will keep your face cool even stopped at a traffic light.

Why does the Mr Cool kit use a vacuum operated water valve instead of a manually operated one?

We have tested many manual operated valves but higher cost and unreliability were among the reasons to choose a vacuum valve.-- A vacuum operated water valve is also needed for hard to reach and hidden under dash installations.--The vacuum valve supplied with the Mr Cool kit is a mass production part used on late model air conditioning systems which makes it low cost and very reliable. -- --
